The history of our company not only charts the modern advancements in aviation but also pays homage to a rich legacy of innovation and expertise in aircraft design. Our journey begins nearly a century ago with Dr. Reimar Horten, an aviator and visionary aircraft designer known for his pioneering work on flying wings, most of which notably lacked vertical surfaces. His collaborative efforts in the 90s with Bernhard Mattlener on the PUL 9 and PUL 10 projects laid foundational technologies that have evolved over time.
Following Dr. Horten’s passing, Bernhard Mattlener continued to advance flying wing designs, culminating in the successful development and flight of the Horten HX-2. This legacy was carried forward when Bernhard teamed up with Marko Stamenovic, our CTO. Marko, with his two decades of specialized experience in flying wings, brings a deep theoretical understanding of blended wing body and flying wing aerodynamics. His expertise, complements Bernhard’s practical experience in building manned flying wings in general aviation.
Together, they embody the fusion of practical and theoretical mastery that propels our company forward. This rich heritage and profound expertise have allowed us to develop advanced aerodynamic capabilities, surpassing the traditional Horten designs. As we continue to innovate with superior designs and technology, we aim to set new standards in efficiency and performance in the aviation industry.
* The HX-2 is not a GETWING design. It was made by HORTEN AIRCARFT GmbH with Bernhard Mattlener as CEO.
